Agia Marina and Platanias are the two closest beaches to the Villa with many beach bars, restaurants, cafes and many shops. The 4 kilometers of the white shining sandy beaches, have given to Platanias beach for several years in the row, the blue flag, a hallmark of quality from the EU for clear and organized beaches. On the beach you will find everything that is provided on well organized beaches, such as beach bars, umbrellas, showers, snack bars, lifeguards, water sports etc. On the east side of the local harbor, close to Agia Marina, you can enjoy swimming in the several small artificial coves. Other nearby, worth visiting beaches include:

- Kalathas beach is very well organized with umbrellas. West of the main bay, beyond the rocky end, there is a further secluded, non organised sandy bay. Loutraki beach is a waveless bay with fine sand.

- Marathi has two wonderful beaches, divided by the pier of the harbour. They are probably two of the best beaches on the Akrotiri peninsula! Both are sandy and well organized with sunbeds and umbrellas. The most important advantage with the beaches in Marathi is that you'll almost never see the sea with waves, even when it blows in western Crete. You can find a couple of taverns and cafes by the sea. Marathi is ideal for families with children.

- Loutraki Beach. Like its neighbouring Marathi beach, this small cove is popular to local families  as it has fine sand and crystal clear shallow waters, especially suitable for children.

Further afield you can discover the beaches of Falasarna and Elafonissi.

- Falasarna is located on the far north west coast and is famous for its long wide stretches of sand. A shell lover's dream, Falasarna also has tinges of pink sand. Beach bars and restaurants provide organised services. Falasarna should ,however, be avoided if there is a strong westerly wind as the sea can become very rough.

- Elafonissi is located on the southwestern most tip of Crete and is one of the most well-known beaches in Crete, but also in Greece.  It stands out for its exotic colors, stunning pink - white sand (a result of millions of crushed sea shells) and its morphology.  Shallow, warm, turquoise waters are reminiscent of the Caribbean - sure to delight. Elafonissi is also a Natura 2000 protected area, rich in protected flora. Organised areas and cafes can be found on the beach and taverns close by. SUP board and canoes are available for hire.

- Balos lagoon can be reached by boat from the port of Kissamos or by a 4x4 vehicle accompanied by strong nerves! Famous for its stunning lagoon, white sand and turquoise waters it is of course touristic but you cannot deny its beauty.

Crete is famous for its beautiful beaches to enjoy and you are lucky enough to be close to many of them.
